I remeber there was a post entitled "Forum Media", a few months ago that was very successfull. Lots of forum members posted some general images and videos of explosives and weapons. So I thought now that some time has passed and their are new members here , we should post some of our stuff. But of course the pictures aren't really of our stuff , just some pics we found on websites that are now since 404'ed . I'll post some stuff once I find a place to up it to.

Sorry to go off-topic, but it seems that many people could use this tidbit of information. If this post is intolerable, go ahead and delete it. Go to free.prohosting.com for a far better free website hosting service. You will be able to click on the posted links that point to the image with that service.

I've found that instead of copying and pasting the urls, you can simply drag and drop them over the address bar. At least in explorer 5.5.

Nice pics everyone!
You`ve got quite a good lab-setup, mr.evil. Reminds me of the one I used to have in my room. I have disposed of most of my chemicals and equipment now, due to the risk and I never used most of my chemicals, but my chemicals-list used to be around 50, pretty nice for my, at that time, low age.
DBSP, looks like you have a great place for setting off big HE charges. Have you never had any "visitors" at your test site??

A_W, that place isn't to far from the town where I live but people never visit that place becase it's quite hard to get there.
And it is indeed a good place, if you look at my last pics and go a further 10m out and 5m to the left the water is more than 4m deep. When I was smaller I tried to dive to the bottom but I never succeded doing so so it's quite deep there, some say over 5m.
As soon as the water gets a bit hotter I'll take an inflatible boat and meassure the depth. And then I'll detonate a charge that weights(in kilos) half as much as the depth.

what do you pay for one package of Esbit fuel tablets? And how big are they? i make my Hexamine myself(CH2O + NH4OH) but as it has a very bad yeild(about 50%) i think i'll use esbit in the future.
by the way, i can buy esbit per package for 2,30$

In your video of the titanium salutes, i noticed something fruity. About 30 seconds into it there is a distinctive boom that stands out, and what sounds like someone yelling out in pain.

Esbit here is expensive, 3.4$ / packet. But I don't use very much of it, therfore it's ok. One packet contain 20 tablets(4 x 20 grams) each containing only 2.5 grams of HTMA. That is 2.5 x 20 = 50 grams/packet. I don't want to bother with formaldehyde, therefore I'm willing to pay 0.068$/gram. [ May 29, 2002, 03:55 PM: Message edited by: xoo1246 ]

The thread is a place to post media, not to chat about hexamine and such. Currently there are 34 replies, and only 16 have links to media.
And please people, make sure the links work before you post them. That way, we wont have tons reply's about the links not working. [ May 29, 2002, 07:38 PM: Message edited by: ALENGOSVIG1 ]

Rat Bastard, do NOT flame a mod. If you wanted to know about his chemicals, email him. If you think the procedure he uses is very new and innovative, then make a topic about it in misc. However, his method is neither, not that it isn't effective. I'd leave it there Rat Bastard.

correct me if i am wrong but for me the whole picture looks FAKE. the reason is: that kind of explosion is really bright and thus the close enviroment gets really "sunny" like at day time. You can't even see the ground around the mushroom cloud.
i'm not a pro photographer neither a pyrotechnic and this is just my opinion.

...And the ammonium perchlorate solid fuel contains also powdered Al, so the flame will be VERY bright. Some sort of flash powder actually.
I heard that even the inventor of this solid fuel said "Oh, but it's so bright !" when he saw for the first time a Columbia space shuttle launch.

Nice picture. Looks like one of my accidents. One possible explanation for the dark background is that cameras have automatic exposure control. Notice on the photo that the center of the fireball is very bright.

Actually, the picture in the magazine (without the man) is the altered picture.
Using photoshop, I resized the picture with the man to the exact size (to the pixel) and orientation as the picture in the magazine scan. Then I checked the picture where the man is/was. You can see in the picture without the man a lighter area in the exact size and shape of the man, where he was erased from the picture.
The editors probably had him removed from the picture so they wouldn't be getting inquires about what happened to him, who was he, etc.

This site has a few excellent quality videos of violent reactions in a lab.
It also has lots of footage of people doing highly irresponsible things with fireworks. Isn't it great watching others risk life and limb for our entertainment?

Oh, sorry to hear about your heart. That can be really nasty. What about that cap, made out of a plastic straw, what's the radius of it and how much primary did it contain? I have been building a wooden box(plywood, open in one direction, BC contained in plywood cylinder) today, nothing advanced, will probably use it in combination with sandbags when dreaming about pressing caps(haven't done that before). I'm working on a smaller model of my current BC:s, therefore pressing will become nessessary. I have been thinking of LSC too, have some nice metal pieces in my dads garage, will try it later. I will post some pictures of my blast screen here tomorrow.

BLEVE = Boiling Liquid Explosive Vapor Explosion. I don't know what exactly went up in those pictures, but BLEVE's are caused when a sealed tank of a flammable liquid (propane or whatever) is heated, causing the liquid inside to boil until it ruptures the container, vaporizes and ignites, creating a massive blast.
Here is a better pic of the rockets I got. Since taking the pic all the rockets with plastic nose cones have been modified by adding aerial shell powder and stars for a much better payload. I plan on fusing them all together and launching them from a large ABS tube I found. It should be a lot of fun.
