I have decided to write a txt for all those ppl who have a scanner. It is a guide for you to get an idea of where you should be using the search command on your scanner when you want to hear what those MACAS chicks talk about between themselves or what ppl have ordered. It is a good idea to let the scanner scan a small range for a minute or so because one of the microphones is either always on, or tripped by a car driving up. You will hear the engine noise before the person starts to order. Then there is the typical exchange of food info with a lot of "What?" or "No, two cheeseburgers". These are low power transmitters, so you will need to be within roughly 1/2 kilometre to pick anything up. Many are using simplex systems, which means that they transmit and recieve on the same frequency, so you should have no hassles with finding one frequency where you may hear both sides of the conversation. Most of the old places have the customer orders using a hardwired mic while the operator has a dickie headset. Some places also have a frequency for talking between employees. This is where all the funny and interesting conversations can be found. HUNGRY : 30.840, 31.000, 170.305, 457.562, 154.570, 457.600, 461.287, JACKS : 466.2875. Before i finish this txt, i have decided to add this little piece below that i recently found on fidonet. CIA, FBI, and LAPD The LAPD, The FBI, and the CIA are all trying to prove that they are the best at apprehending criminals. The U.S President decides to give them a test. He releases a rabbit into a forest and has each of them try to catch it. The CIA goes in first. They place animal informants throughout the forest. They question all plant and mineral witnesses. After three months of extensive investigations they conclude that rabbits do not exist. Then the FBI goes in. After two weeks with no leads they burn the forest, killing everything in it, including the rabbit, and they make no apologies. The rabbit had it coming. Finally the LAPD goes in. They come out two hours later with a badly beaten raccoon. The raccoon is yelling: "Okay! Okay! I'm a rabbit! I'm a rabbit!" :) Greets go out to all the lads at ACid iNC & ASGARD BBS.
