Cheating Scantrons #1.Marking the black lines- On the left side of most scantrons, there are black lines next to the question numbers. My hypothesis is that these black lines tell the machine where to scan. I donÕt know how it really works, but it dose, but not as often to create a great advantage It works about 25%-30% of the time. #2.Erasing the same black lines - Now this is pretty self explanitory. You erase those same black lines, Only the ones that you canÕt answer. Some times the machine skips the question and it wont mark it at all. This leaves you with the correct answer. -OR- The macine will record an error and not maek the paper at all, including the score. Then the teacher will have to grade the test. It works about 25%-30% of the time. #3.Erasing the big black block - Along the left side is a big black block. It is on the upper part of the colum before the question lines. Occasionally the machine will skip over the whole thing leaving you with a 100%. This is almost impossible to get to work. IÕve gotten it to work twice out of hundreds of tries, but it can be done. Works less than 1% of the time.
