Grimmett, American Law Division Abstract: Security cooperation between the United States and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has increased since the 1990-91 Persian Gulf crisis. During the May 12 visit of the Crown Prince to the United States, it was announced that the UAE had decided to purchase 80 U.S.-made F-16 aircraft. After the conclusion of the 30-day congressional review period at the end of May 2000, the President was authorized to proceed with the sale.
