CAP’s Petition Calling for a Referendum on the Security & Prosperity Partnership (SPP)… Posted by admin on October 25, 2007 This an issue too important to ignore. Please consider signing the petition and pass it along to other concerned Canadians. The future of our country may depend upon it. Join the Canadian Action Party in demanding that before the next election Prime Minister Stephen Harper ask the Canadian people if they want a Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) with the United States and Mexico. This is far too important to the future of Canada to be left to an unrepresentative Parliament and must be put to the People in a referendum! The Canadian Action Party rejects the call by the Council of Canadians, the NDP and others for a vote in Parliament regarding the end of Canada as we know it. Calling for a parliamentary vote on the essence of Canada in this Parliament is to be complicit in Canada’s demise. The Prime Minister of Canada and his cabinet in both Liberal and Conservative regimes support the unification of North America, as witnessed by the fact that both Paul Martin and Stephen Harper are signatories to the secret SPP process. A vote in Parliament will accordingly be approved by both parties leading to majority approval. 10 corporations from each of Canada, the USA and Mexico have been formed into the North American Competitiveness Council (NACC) and are actively advising the government on how to proceed with unification. The sovereignty of 3 nations is of no concern to the NACC when there is unlimited growth and money to be made by corporate control of government agendas. When Prime Minister Harper addressed the Council on Foreign Relations on September 25 th he stated that he: appreciates the input from these business lobbies; has a problem with “unhealthy nationalism” and “old socialist models”; will advance NAFTA wherever possible; and will govern by “executive authority” rather than majority votes. Meanwhile, the Bloc Québécois has been silent and the NDP virtually muted since 2005 when the agreement was signed by Paul Martin, George W. Bush and Vincente Fox. They have proven themselves complicit in the death of Canada. Further, their voted support in 2001 of the deceptive liberty-stripping legislation disguised as anti- terrorist legislation, the 2001 Smart Border Declaration (harmonization), and the Smart Regulation initiative are all preliminary steps to the SPP and major components of integration of Canada with the USA and Mexico. Neither spoke up through elections and numerous by-elections while the integration has been proceeding via working groups, under the direction of the Prime Ministers, their Cabinets and senior officials from government and industry. Integration of Canadian with American armed forces in NORTHCOM has already been approved without reference to Parliament! A DECISION ABOUT THE RESTRUCTURING OF CANADA INTO AN INTEGRATED NORTH AMERICAN UNION WITH A COMMON CURRENCY IS A DECISION FOR THE CITIZENS OF CANADA, NOT FOR A MINORITY GOVERNMENT WITH AN INEFFECTIVE OPPOSITION. Sign the SPP Petition and Call for Full Disclosure and Referendum. Add your name to our petition which will be sent to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Opposition Leaders Stéphane Dion, Jack Layton and Gilles Duceppe. The signed petition will say “We’d Rather Stay Canadian!” To Prime Minister Stephen Harper, cc. Stéphane Dion, Jack Layton, Gilles Duceppe. We, the people of Canada, demand that you fully disclose the details of the Security and Prosperity Partnership Agreement and all other secret agreements and ratifications relative to any proposed integration of trade, security and armed forces with the United States and immediately place a moratorium on any further development of such plans and abrogate any agreements made to date pending a decision by a nationwide Referendum on these issues. The Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) of North America was initiated on March 31, 2005 by the leaders of Canada, the United States and Mexico to combine free trade as a hostage to security cooperation but cannot be allowed to go forward unless ratified by all the citizens of Canada in a free vote. In particular, we demand that our national security policies be defined by Canadians on behalf of and for the benefit of Canadians. Our security would be better served if we disassociate ourselves from the U.S. “war on terror”. WE ARE A SEPARATE, INDEPENDENT NATION AND IT IS THE PEOPLE WHO MUST DECIDE THEIR FUTURE!
