Mark Israel, who wrote the FAQ in 1997, is no longer an active member of
the alt.usage.english newsgroup. He maintains a copy of his FAQ with

The alt.usage.english newsgroup maintains a different updated version of
Mark's FAQ on its site at <http://alt-usage-english.org/fast_faq.shtml>.
