Followup-To: alt.revisionism Organization: The Old Frog's Almanac, Vancouver Island, CANADA Keywords: almanac During a substantial part of this year, I have managed to provide a small but informative collection of Holocaust citations. At the time of writing this request, about 290 of these citations exist. When I began this project, my intention was to provide signposts - vignettes, if you will - that would provide some educational insight into the events collectively referred to as the Holocaust, and, more importantly, provide an initial resource for those wishing to explore the subject in depth. Towards that end, I have also created a bibliography which now inlcludes about 1300 individual Holocaust citations. For publishing this stuff on a daily basis for four months, I have been thanked by some and damned by some. That I have irritated the hell out of the crowd using Dan Gannon's machine to spread their disgusting brand of hatred delights me no end. Someone I correspond with regularly was surprised to learn that I type all these citations by hand - they asked why I didn't use a scanner. The answer is simple - I can't afford one :-( At the same time, the writer suggested I go to the net and ask for help. Here I am - I need your help. I would like to add at least another 200 citations to the archives here during the next few months. If you would like to provide a few, I'd be more than happy to take them off your hands, and redistribute them world-wide along with mine. All I ask is that you adhere to a few simple "rules" - First, please use this header: Newsgroups: alt.revisionism,soc.history,talk.politics.misc Subject: LEST WE FORGET: Followup-To: alt.revisionism Organization: The Old Frog's Almanac, Vancouver Island, CANADA Keywords: Fill in appropriate keywords, if there are any. Second, try and limit the size of the article to less than 100 lines - 40-60 is ideal, and will usually suffice to make the specific point addressed by the article in the first place. Folks tend to pay more attention to brief and concise offerings. Third, the bibliographic credits should be as complete as possible, and follow my standard format: Extracted from--------------------------------------------------- "THE REDEMPTION OF THE UNWANTED", Abram L. Sachar (New York: St. Martin's/Marek, 1983. ----------------------------------------------------------------- This is done for two reasons - first, to give the author and publisher full credit for quoted material, and second to point those wanting more detail in the precise direction needed to locate that detail (and depth well beyond the capacity of this net to provide). And finally, please take credit for your work, and 'sign' it, by adding this final line: Material submitted by @
That attribution will remain with the document and become part of the archives. Of primary interest, to me at least, are items that represent eye-witness accounts (there are many, contrary to the assertions of the b-cpu crowd), particular brutality (Babi Yar, Harvest Festival, etc.), or the enormous depth of human courage. I am also interested in evidence from European courts (1945-1992) and quotations from captured documents. If the documents are copied in the original language (German, for the most part), I would appreciate an English translation. Well, there 'tis - if you'd like to take some of the strain off my overstressed carpal tunnels, have at it :-) _Follow-ups are redirected to alt.revisionism_ Ken McVay The Old Frog's Almanac Vancouver Island, Canada P.S. - If you would like to have the current crop, let me know - it's available zipped or compressed tar, uuencoded. I am also in need of archive sites on the Internet that will provide this material to the public via remote ftp, so I can advertise them in my b-cpu FAQ file, which is published twice monthly.
