fill 4 quart jars 2/3 full. the grains
will expand, so keep that in mind. you will be able to fill more than just those
4 jars by the time you're done. (i filled 8).
pour the corn in a big pot and cover with spring water so that you've got 1/2 to 1 inch of water above the grain.
cover the pot and let soak for 24 hours.
the next day, check on the water level... be sure there's still plenty of water.
bring the pot to a boil and then simmer, covered, for an hour.
drain the corn in a colander for AT LEAST 1/2 HOUR!!!!! no skimping on this step.
load your jars 2/3 full.
drill a 1/4 inch hole in the lid.
tape it up
put the lids on
cover with foil so no moisture gets in the jars
pc for 90 minutes at 15 lbs.
take out the jars and let them cool down before innoculating
i put 3cc's per jar through the 1/4 inch hole on top (in a glovebox) and then
rather than putting the tape back on, i unscrewed the band and put one of those coffee filters you see in the picture and re-applied the band.
(you can use tyvek, of course, or polyfill in the hole) they like some air flow.
after that, you incubate at around 85 degrees (i covered the jars with a black garbage bag) and after 4 or 5 days, when the corn is approx. 30% colonized, you shake the shit out of it to spread the myc.
you will now notice that all the myc is gone!!!
fear not, in 5 more days, you will see results like the photo i posted. i couldn't believe it myself. i used the pesa strain.
now, a person can do the jar to jar transfer in a glove box using 2 tbs. worth to spawn your virgin corn.
then, you can just case with coir/verm. 50/50, in a pie tin.
i will post some pictures to show you what i'm doing with it.

This popcorn talk is exciting!
I haven't had a chance to try it out yet,
but I've heard great things!
Toilet flush simple POPCORN tek.
1) Place dry unpopped P/Corn in a pot & bring to a boil, then turn off heat
2) Let them soak for 24 hours.
3) Bring to a slow boil for 1 hour.
4) Pour off ALL the water, drain WELL & allow to cool to room temp.
5) Jar up as you would rye or WBS & PC @ 15lbs 60 to 90 minutes.
I might also add that hot air popped P/Corn is a good additive to any compost mix of dung/straw combo.
yes folks, the rumours were true... here's cornography at its finest (10 days from start to finish)

| I see one popcorn tek in there. I have one that doesn't require soaking overnight. I think it is archive material.
Pour your popcorn into the PC ( Do not fill more than 1/4 of the PC popcorn expands a lot)
Fill with water couple inches over the popcorn
PC 45-60min 15psi
Drain, rinse, and strain good
Load into jars cover with foil and load back into PC
PC 60min 15psi
Let cool and knock with Fav spore
Simple easy and worth looking into if interested in popcorn. Has worked flawlessly for me.

| Paraphrasing from the Book of Nan:
Popcorn will probably colonize, but I think the problem is getting it to fruit.

| Hey guys, I tried looking through the archives, but I couldn't find it. I'm looking for the part where it tells about using popcorn and how to do it. Do I just soak it, then put it in 3/4th and PC? Or can I make popcorn floor and use that only? Or add water? How much water? Anyone got that good link to the page? Anyone a PRO with popcorn? HELP! I just bought some and I'm excited!!! THANKS!!!!!!! :-*

| I just put the popcorn in the PC @ about 7 pints H20 to 2 pints popcorn (adjust as required, this works good w/ my PC) and cook @ 15 PSI for 45 - 60 min. Rinse and let drain for 1 hour. Load jars and PC for another 45 - 60 min. I also like to throw a tablespoon of verm in the bottom of the jars to soak up any excess H20. This is not required but is just an extra precaution and it also allows you to shorten the drain time if you are in a hurry.

| yeah I think its important that it cools when it drains.
Because if its still hot it will hold way more moisture then it cools off and releases it all in the bottom of the jars
so foaf let it cool, then load it up in jars and PC, then shake and they cool down with no puddles.
well thats only once when there wasn't any wbs around, he usually just mixes wbs and pcorn

|I boil the popc till I can smash it between my fingers. Then drain for 5 mins. While the popc is still hot I pour it onto a doublefolded sheet and roll it around to take the water off the outside of the grain ( it also drys fast because it is still hot). Then pack 3/4 into jars and pressure cook. No excess water in jars and shakes very easily. No need to shake while still hot after pressure cooking.|
