| cool, but complicated, j/k.
do you have those large pvc pipes inside the top of the chamber pumping out the humidity?
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Mar 25 03, 05:55 PM GMT|
| You mean the bins? No
greenhouse a slightly smaller PVC across the top.
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Mar 25 03, 05:58 PM GMT|
| Best and cheapest foggers on the net.

|Posted by: Iggy Mar 25 03, 08:03 PM GMT|
| Can you come over and build one of those in my closet?
Seriously though, I think I could make good use of one of those. It's nice and vertical, just what I need! I'm sorta pressed for space I assume you will have to change the perlite (at the bottom) every so often How long you reckon between changing? Weekly maybe, or by the flush?
|Posted by: NixxoN Mar 25 03, 08:26 PM GMT|
| Wicked fogger setup FM. Mucho Impressive
It's not really nessesary to have the PVC outlet for the fog through, right?
I have little tubes like the one you have of the fog comming out of it hooked up to all of my terrariums (I have an isolated terrarium setup). Do you think that would be enough for homer style mist/humidity?
|Posted by: billbraski Mar 25 03, 10:24 PM GMT|
|my god you're a madman!!!!!!!!!|
|Posted by: Gweedo Mar 25 03, 10:29 PM GMT|
| That's too complicated for me to make out of pictures. Cool, but I cant see it all as a whole. Could you build mine while you're working on Iggy's or at least put it into blueprint form? Love the work FM. Keep it up.
|Posted by: ion Mar 25 03, 11:21 PM GMT|
| Nice one, max!
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Mar 25 03, 11:31 PM GMT|
Its better to have a large channel for the fog to pass thru and channel down to a hose. If the channel is too small, you will need more fan pressure to push it. You want it to be a slow slughish type fog flow.
But if you are only doing a couple bins the small tube wont matter. You will have plenty of fog to do what you need.
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Mar 25 03, 11:36 PM GMT|
I dont change the perlite. I wet it down with strong bleach water once in a great while. For the most part it stays too dry cept around the edges to sustain any growth. I wet it once in a while, but there is really no need. It just serves as a water "catch". Another note: I have yet to grow a single contam in the greenhouse in all months of using it. no joke

You're a pimp.
|Posted by: Molester Mar 26 03, 12:34 AM GMT|
| Holy shit FM, where do you find your sponsors?
You must be livin check to check with all these projects happenin!
Beautiful setup BTW, it'd look better with yummies in it tho.
|Posted by: Iggy Mar 26 03, 05:29 AM GMT|
|Well aint that just flippin cool|
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Mar 26 03, 12:19 PM GMT|
LOL no sponsers! I just used shit I already had around. I got a virtual terrarium parts depot. any kinda of material I need just about
Check 2 check I thought thats how everybody lived...
BTW it has yummies but it may be bad to show a closet full , eh.
|Posted by: Delerium02 Mar 26 03, 02:19 PM GMT|
|very cool, i think a diagram would help people understand it better, what are you using to control the temp?|
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Mar 26 03, 02:29 PM GMT|
| nada on temp control. My closet maintains a range of 72-82, depending on the ambient temp outside the closet. I let it vary.
I dont know why people dont or cant see the design, but Ill make a diagram anyhow. Guess cause I made it I can invison whats going on.
|Posted by: WescoI Mar 26 03, 04:55 PM GMT|
|very nice setup fm, you kick ass.|
|Posted by: sinoptik Mar 26 03, 05:21 PM GMT|
|very nice setup FM. Do you have to disconnect the pvc pipe that provides mist into each bin to pick or can you just slide the terrarium out?|
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Mar 26 03, 07:13 PM GMT|
Well the pvc connects to clear rubber hose that connects to a nozzle mounted on the bin.
But yea they will slide out since the rubber hose is bend-able.
Ill make a diagram to better illustrate the setup.
|Posted by: spngbob Mar 26 03, 09:10 PM GMT|
| ok, from the bucket you go to the bins & the green house, but what is the other the other flex hose?
Where is the fan?
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Mar 26 03, 10:40 PM GMT|
|I keep forgeting that some of you never saw the first closet homer. Ill see if I can get Nan to upload the thread for me.|
|Posted by: DirtyWOP Mar 27 03, 09:09 AM GMT|
| pretty groovy man!
I still like to fan bins
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Mar 27 03, 01:48 PM GMT|
I hear ya wop, might need to if the fan power isnt enough.
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Mar 30 03, 03:38 PM GMT|
Im gonna post this just to prove the Homer system works...
|Posted by: Iggy Mar 30 03, 07:55 PM GMT|
Looking good! I see you left the Z uncased
Will we be casing for following flushes? In a high humidity enviroment do you see any pooling water on top the uncased substrate? A foaf had a problem with pooling water but compensated by sprinkling just enough verm around to absorb the excess water
Yours looks better than his though
I just want to see all those little white dots turn to fruit and reach for the sky!
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Mar 31 03, 02:55 AM GMT|
|yea water does pool up... that mystery tyb had it bad at birth so I added a thin layer of casing. I have had many people tell me to leave the spawned sub un cased and fruit it so im giving it a whirl. think I will add a thin casing layer after this flush thanks igg, my main man in amsterdam.|

| this Tek seems like the way to go for peeps with the lux of having a larger custom system. but for those of us just working on small scale I definately think that coolmist humidifiers are the way to go.
Great Job FM, I'm curious about the fan size, type, setup you used to move all the fogg ? can we get some more pics of that?
|Posted by: Iggy Mar 31 03, 05:21 PM GMT|
| Happy clones!
They just keep growing and growing and growing
Nice, they look very tasty
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Apr 01 03, 02:29 AM GMT|
| Here is a rough diagram of the basic layout for those who dont understand.
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Apr 01 03, 02:30 AM GMT|
|Get the picture?|
|Posted by: ShroomVator Apr 01 03, 07:51 AM GMT|
|This is some sweet setup. Any wrinkles so far or is the fogger good enough for all of that space?|
|Posted by: Twista Apr 01 03, 01:58 PM GMT|
|FM, you should look into getting a copy of Viso. Do a search on kazaa if needed. It's an app for designing flowcharts, diagrams, etc. Very easy and fast to whip up designs of all sorts. For a true engineer like yourself- its a must.|
|Posted by: psilli me Apr 01 03, 09:40 PM GMT|
| That's all good FM but I'm still curious about the Fan system you are using to push that fogg through those tubes.
I might be able to get a legal copy of MS Viso for $5.00, will have to check, PM me if you want a copy.
|Posted by: dcyans Apr 01 03, 09:48 PM GMT|
| this could work for me
|Posted by: dcyans Apr 01 03, 09:48 PM GMT|
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Apr 02 03, 04:20 PM GMT|
Yeah Dcyans, that would prolley work. Im bout to post the old homer thread
|Posted by: Propagator Apr 02 03, 05:08 PM GMT|
I want to comment here, but all I can muster is: wow.
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Apr 02 03, 06:35 PM GMT|
| I just cxhecked those z babies and Im too late
They have all opened and begun sporolating! Less than a day...
Im pc'ing printing tools etc, right now. I will return with pics
|Posted by: Iggy Apr 03 03, 08:55 AM GMT|
|Nice flushes! As far as size goes, those look pretty sizable to me I would have to agree that substrate and moisture content play a great role in the growth perameters. But here is a thought Did you clone from a first flush mushroom? I don't know just shooting in the dark here Over all though, those are spectacular fruits. I wouldn't complain one bit, just keep em comming!|
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Apr 04 03, 11:24 AM GMT|
|Actually 2nd flush clone.|
|Posted by: psilli me Apr 04 03, 02:03 PM GMT|
| /me Pulls pants up and sits back down.
Sorry FM, I can tend to get alittle impateint when I'm excited about something.
I wish I could get even one fruit half the size of those, but these damn PRs are only giving me aborts.
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Apr 09 03, 03:23 AM GMT|
|I finally got it together! Here is another original homer design:|
|Posted by: NixxoN Apr 09 03, 03:38 AM GMT|
| Woo, I was looking for some of that stuffs
It seems to load funny on my screen, not sure if it's just the way it is though. The left and right halves seem to be cut off, but the pics are in full view.
I can't wait to get my fogger going! I'll try to borrow a friends digi-cam for a pictography once I'm done
|Posted by: brainbreath May 29 03, 08:34 AM GMT|
| purely hypothetical question, but would this system work to fog an 8'x12' room?
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus May 30 03, 07:45 AM GMT|
|Sure but you'd need a large hepa source to circulate the air/fog. And prolley one of those 5 head foggers with a barrel sized reservoir.|
|Posted by: brainbreath May 30 03, 04:34 PM GMT|
| ya' think a 1750 cfm attic fan with a 24"x24" hepa would do?
Are you talkin like a 55 gallon drum type barrel?
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Jun 01 03, 12:07 AM GMT|
prolley too much. but if properly ventilated itll work.
Yes a drum or barrel
|Posted by: mycofile Jun 06 03, 04:40 PM GMT|
| So FM, I've been folowing your posts lately and figured I'd check out your set-up, looks pretty good (I'd make a few tweaks, but minor
I am curious what you are using for a fan though. Any idea what kind of air exchange rate you are getting?
Also, I assume you can't just pack those shelves full, you have to leave room for the air to circulate down between trays, right?
|Posted by: Drama queen Jun 06 03, 08:35 PM GMT|
|Tell me max, where do you put the rocket motor again?|
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Jun 06 03, 10:31 PM GMT|
I'm using a holmes hepa unit to push the fog. And yes I pack those shelves plum full!
No worries about circulating air LOL, this setup is nothing but air!
Hell the other day I fell asleep and forgot to close the plastic curtain on the greenhouse! Didn't notice till almost 24 hours later.
I have the timer on 30 min cycles every 3 hours, yes every 3. I also have another fog inlet at the 3rd shelf to even out the moisture. My setup stay basically the same but I'm always adding new things and replacing old ideas.
To combat the dripping inside, I normally don't have to worry about it. Although when I get those strains that bruise easy, malabars, strophoria, tex, thai's etc. I use non-woven plat covers to prevent the droplets from hitting the shrooms and myc/ It still allows plenty of air and RH just keeps em dry Pics are being processed of what I'm talking about, right now
Keep up now, don't fall off
|Posted by: Lophophophile Jun 07 03, 02:19 AM GMT|
|ok, now remember i'm a newbie... what are those bins for? why would you have some stuff growing in the greenhouse and other stuff in the bins? is it just more space to grow using a different housing medium?|
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Jun 08 03, 04:21 AM GMT|
|Bins were part of the original homer, I have two greenhouses now, thats 10 tiers total. The bins are on the floor fruiting with no fanning etc. Neglect bin tek. Works great too! no contams yet Just one hole in the side for air thats it|
|Posted by: Dr. Wiggins Jun 21 03, 04:14 AM GMT|
|so is it better to clone a first flush specimen or second?|
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Jun 30 03, 05:58 PM GMT|
|Posted by: nhdevildog Jul 24 03, 04:42 PM GMT|
|FM, I just bought a green house and will be giving your system a try. Could you tell me where to get the best fan for the job? Thanks. Also I didn't see anything on heat source...Could you tell me any good ways. Would the fish tank heater work?|
|Posted by: Fungusmaximus Jul 25 03, 12:17 PM GMT|
| You dont need any heat man...
unless your house is really cold, a light bulb in the closet is all the heat I have. I keep the light off most of the time. Mushies are more potent when grown in cooler temps, althought the growth rate is slower.
Buy a hepa unit from walmart for 30-40$ thats what I use....
