Thanks to Quote, Brettie, Nan and the rest of the gang I've learned the hands down best way to innoculate is the dextrose water tek. My method is I mix a teaspoon of dextrose in a half pint jar 3/4 full of water.I take a small piece of Goretex from the fabric store and screw it on the top with the metal band on a half pint. I poke a hypo needle in the goretex for breathing during PC'ing and place Al foil over it all. I shoot it with 4cc's of spores after the water has cooled and after a week I have enough to innoculate.....MANY jars. I like the Goretex because it works like the rubber on injectable medicine bottles. I've haven't had contamination yet. And again all of you, thanks for a very useful tek!

Wow, never heard of Goretex before, what is it exactly?

It's a fabric that will let moisture from your body out while keeping water from rain or whatever out. They make boots out of it, parkas, pants. It cost about $20 a yard, expensive. But not when you buy 6" of it. It is tightly woven so when you remove the hypodermic needle it doesn't leave a hole for water or contamination to go through.

[ding!]

I think I just heard light bulbs appear above the heads of multiple pseudo-mycologists.
