Anywhere from 0 to 8 grams per cake over the life of it.

The manner in which you care for them, ultimately, has a very large bearing on your total yeild....

but other factors like strain, for instance, can also play a part.

Anything from PF is good though, so don't worry about your strain.

what would make my yeild bigger per cake??

Just nail down the PF TEK and your yeilds will be plenty big enough.

If this is your first try your concern is getting a yeild not making it bigger. I have seen many a sad myc who tried to get ahead of themselves and ended up with little or nothing. I guess the best advice at this point for you to get a bigger yeild would be to get another syringe and 12 more jars. Good luck!

P.S. it's spelled Hawaiian.

Yeilds are usually significantly larger if you case the substrate. It is basically a way to increase the size of the mycelium growth. It also acts as a way to keep the mycelium in good shape water-wise.

Amen to what Jim just said. If you are new to this you need not concern yourself with how much you can get. Take the time to learn the basic teks and then after a few batches start to make more and try more advanced ideas.

Yes indeed.... the guys who have been here a while definitely know what they are talking about.

Trying to do more than you are ready for is a common reason for failure in people just starting out.

Learn the P.F. Tek first.

And don't deviate at all... do it by the numbers.

You won't be sorry.

Good Idea Nick,

I did the same thing....thought big right from the start. It took me 5 months just to get one flush. Just take it easy and stick to the PF tek. If you get that nailed down on your first try, then go to something more challenging, but I tell ya, for me, that first flush was challenging enough.
