I came across this at the local Starbucks for $4. It gives me the right/consistant amount for vermiculite in the bottom of a jar as well as scoop for topping off a jar. The tamper is good for well...tamping.

Thats pretty sweet
My friends are always looking for tools for his shroom hobby. He has his own FULL kitchen utensil set in a case, just for shroomies and has found all kinds of uses for stuff. His favorite is the baster. Mix the verm and water, mix, let it sit, then suck the excess water out of the bowl leaving just a little puddle! when doing a few dozen jars at a time, this helps. Hasn't screwed up water content yet!
Way cool man!!

Dr.Cube, about the baster....mix the verm. and water for casing or for the bio-barrier on top of jars? It interests me in that it has a repeatable consistancy built into it.

Nue, Add the water to the verm in a bowl.
mix well, tilt bowl till extra water not sucked up by verm is puddling. suck up with baster. At that point verm will be holding all moisture it can carry. Add brf, mix, prepare as via pf style or mmgg or whatever you choose. Anno turned me on to the water content. As well as the fact that the idea is to COAT the DAMP verm with brf. My friend rarely even measures anymore. He does it by eyeball. He gets sick of mixing substrate for dozens of jars at a time.... hurry hurry hurry...

Sounds like a winner, thanks. I've learned more in one year online than I did in the previous six years doin it all by myself. I know this being in each others ear was one of Leary and Keseys dream.
