|Double-end casing tek||-|

I woke up this morning to find out that there were even more pins and the ones that were already there got even bigger. This hobby makes it worth wile to get out of bed every day. Just to see what new growth you have.
Here is a good shot of the pinning grounds beneath one of my cakes.
Here is a shot of a cake that has double ended casing TEK on it, Check out that huge fattie! These must all be abhorts or something because the cap never gets any bigger.
Here is a good close up of the biggest change that I seen this morning. All of the gray matter that was inside of the cake when I drilled it turned white and fluffy last night. This mycelium is sure strong and persistant too, It just won't fall over dead, it keeps growing and growing! Amazing.
I can't wait to find out what cool new things will come to me tomorrow. I got a question though. Is there anything I can do to help prevent abhorts or is it something beyond my control? And am I right about the ones where their bodies grow, but the caps don't They will abhort right? Somebody give me some tips about abhorts and when to pick them. After all These are PFCs

You know whats so sad...
I went thru and harvested another flush last night... Dozens of BEAUTIFUL mushrooms...
And within hours they are nasty looking as they are drying out...
* sigh * pretty sad really...
You are in for those same feelings jared
On the flipside of that I traded a quarter for
an 8th of northern lights last night. THAT was cool! Makes it all worth it!!

Green bud, just another name....
It's green that is so fuzzy with white crystals, that you can barely tell the color

And Jared, I have only flushed 20 or 30 cakes so far, but none of mine ever looked like yours.
On every single cake I have grown the heads are proportionate to the pins, and if I do get aborts, they are not only few and far between, but really tiny.

Ya, I don't get it, you would think that the cap (head) of the primordia would be bigger than the body. but mine it seems like it is clogged on the inside and the body just keeps getting more bloated and soon its going to POP!

Anyway I bet I know how to fix this problem with my PFCs I will just clone my best one (If any actually turn into sporocarps) then I will probably have my next cakes with that clone hardly shoot any abhorts. What do you say Quote? Does cloning your best PFC result in less abhorts?

i beleive that happens because of poor air exchange... i read that somewhere because it used to happen to me before i got a humidifier =)

you'll always have aborts, it's just a natural part of the process.

Maybe Chee, But I can't imagine that Jared doesn't fan out his babies a few times a day.
I was worried about air exchange in my main tank,
So I went out and bought a little 20 gallon fish pump for ten bills ran it into the tank, and it runs 24/7 so there is ALWAYS at least a little fresh air circulting in the tank till I get home to fan it out.
But really, curious about Jareds shrooms, is it normal to have shrooms like that?? I am sure that they will take off any time into huge beautiful mushrooms.
Is it a pf spore thing? I didn't order any of mine from pf, and if I had shroomies that looked like jareds I would surely remember.
So whats the deal quote? Is this normal??

Jared: PFC's normally look all stunted and warped like that with no definate cap appearing at the early stages. Soon enough they will straighten out and start looking like the 'ideal' shroom. I have noticed this pretty much just with PFC's but they sure do flush strong. And abhorts, so long as the heads don't turn black' are just as good a eatin' as any other 'ideal' shrooms. CoNgRaTs!
Exciting to wake up every morning and see the changes and than again when you come home from work.. Thats why i love growing shrooms so much better than plants.. RESULTS
