I woke up this morning to find out that my cakes started growing pins a lot more faster than they have been the last couple of days. I got tons of new ones, and the old ones are getting fat. These are PFCs so I know most of them will stop growing, but man I wish they would all become full shrooms.

Here is a cake 2 days after dunking for 7 hours at 35 degrees.

Here are some more cakes after the dunking a few days ago.
duked cakes

Here is a cake that I just have applied the double ended casing tek to. These are growing more shrooms right now, but the others have a nice white coat of cotton.
unduked cake

Here are a few more of the undunked cakes.

Here is a pic of one of the big pinning grounds under my undunked cake. These have all just seemed to cup up last night and today. It looks as if they are almost growing out of the vermiculite. That is one thing I am starting to notice is that they like to grow out of the vermuclite more than the sides of they cake. I wonder why? I always thought they would like the sides of the cake just as good.

It's getting even more exciting every day when I see more of these coming up, and the ones I already know of are getting bigger and faster than before.

Hey Jared,

I decided to only dunk after the cakes have already flushed, though I don't think it matters at all.

And when I do the pf double casing tek I actually scoop as much verm as will fit onto the cake
and pile it on. I have noticed that my cakes will send thier mycellia about 2 inches THRU the top layer of very to fruit up there.

I have more cakes than ever fruiting right now :)
In my glass terrarium alone 1 have about 15.
Space is kinda tight but theres nothing like looking thru the glass and seeing dozens upon dozens of shrooms smiling healthily/happily back at you!

Congrats on your success Keep it up!

oh yea, I have been dunking my cakes about 24 hours, and though they look healthy, I have yet to fruit any second flushes.....

24 hours is not to long is it? I mean I have heard others say that 10 hours is good, 6 to short, and anything longer than 48 can kill the cake. Opinions? Facts?

24 hours to completely rehydrate your cake. Sounds good, they say that 12 hours is what you do at birth before they start fruiting. I did mine for 7 hours and there is a visible difference. The pics I posted show it alright, but there is even more of a difference between the undunked cakes and the dunked cakes when you see it for yourslef in real life.

I second that, I always dunk my cakes after birthing them and have undoubted measureable success just by placing two terrariums together one containing cakes that were dunked after and the other one with non-dunked cakes. Shrooms appear to grow a lot fatter, and I assume this is obviously because the cakes contain more water.

I have a canon S100 Digital Elph. It takes 1600x1200 pics. Very nice, I got it this time last year for $400 online, I bet you could get one for $250 now. I know that my next digital camera will be a canon, they make good shit.

I was suppose to go to school for computer animation, but I didn't have $100 grand for the art school. That's why I'm just going to a shitty IT school. Maybe someday I will move to denver and go to the Art Institute out there, someday I will be an animator.

You seem to be pretty "animated" to me :)
