I have four beautiful, almost fully colonized jars. Unfortunately, colonization took a good deal longer than I had hoped (temperature, I think) and, since I'm going to be away from home for a couple of weeks over the christmas period, I don't want to birth the cakes now...

My question - is it possible to store the jars in the fridge for a few weeks? If so, should I put the jars in the fridge as soon as the surface is colonized or wait for the interior to colonize? Also, is there anything extra that needs to be done when I get back and birth the cakes?

Thanks!!

sure, they'll be fine in there for a few weeks. they'll even grow a little, so don't worry about the interior being colonized.
birth as usual.

if not quite colonized and only goin for 2 weeks, you might as well take out of incubator and let colonize in complete darkness still, this way they will be 2 weeks part 100% and perfect time to birth, even expose to light... i dunno, quote sound like itd work? in my experience itll take longer then 2 weeks to get pins goin etc... just a thought so you can get some fruits a week after return
