Dunking with a little lime

I was just thinking- do you think that adding just a wee bit, a dash, of lime to a jar of water and dunking the cake in that mixture would be beneficial? Since cakes, although more immune than casings, they *do* contam...I'm just thinking sweetening up the cake a bit, just a bit, might improve performance a bit after the second and third dunks... fruits must make even the mycelium a little acidic if they do it to casings.

it's possible, but I would not recommend it until after the second flush, because cakes do fine until then anyway

yeah- you're prolly right- if it did any good, it wouldn't be needed till later...Well, I'll try it when I hit that point, when I got some controls and a number of experimentals.
