Has anyone ever injected into sterilized grain instead of using the cake method? All advice would be greatly appreciated!

it can be done. you can either shoot it in there before the bag is impulse sealed or you can poke a hole in the bag to inoculate and then tape or silicone the hole closed. i would do the first of the two. right in the cooker then fold and seal immediately. still air is vital.

i often grow on rye grain, but i use quart jars, not bags.
and i use polyfil plugs in the lids instead of filter disks.
it's a great way to get lots of spawn fast, as you can shake it up to speed colonization.
plus each jar only needs a squirt of inoculant, making prints/syringes go much farther.
once finished, you can either case the grain or use it to spawn dung, worm castings, straw and go really bulk, for massive harvests.
