I am wondering how many 12cc syringes to make up from one good spore print in a jar? I made 2 but it seems like i could probably keep diluting these, i think i read somewhere that a low spore innoc. is desireable? whatch yall think?

5-10 syringes normally - See my Print/Syringe Tek for more ;)

yeah 5-10. you can usually tell by how dark the print is. i like my syringes full of spores, so i sometimes go on the low side. it works good for me, i get visible growth in 2-3 days, and that is a lot more than a spot of growth.

Hello everyone. Once a start getting mushrooms, I thought I'd try to do some prints. I was wondering how many syringes you could get from a single print. I know that you can get many syringes from just one print, but want to know how many well-loaded syringes you can get. Thanks in advance.

your average sized, dark, cubensis print will easily get you 5 good syringes and probably many times that "viable" syringes, if you can homoginze the spores into the solution well.

a little trick i learned along the way was to only use 5-? cc's(depending on the # of syringes you intend to make and the size and heaviness of the print) of water in the solution and have a seperate jar of sterile water. take a small amount of the dark 10cc solution into a syringe and then fill the syringe by drawing from the water jar. repeat until solution is gone.

nice tip, relic.

A good way to disperse spores/mycelium chunks in a solution instead of having them all go into a few syringes is (similar to relic's excellent tip) :
1.Take a print into say 25 cc of water.
2.Draw a 10cc syringe and expel repeatedly into the spore solution to disperse the spores.
3.When satisfied, draw the 10cc in and expel into 250cc of seperate sterile water.
4.Redraw water out of this second jar and plunge repeatedly till your are satisfied the spores are well dispersed.
5. Draw about 25 syringes out of this.
6. Redraw another 10cc spore water from your print water.
7. Go back to step 3
This kind of quantification can result in about 60-75 syringes per print which is not bad and if you disperse well, they will all be very viable even if the spores are not visible. After all, it really doesn't take a whole lot.
