OK, dextrose solutions are the way to go with Pan Trop spore prints. I am using 1-1/4 teaspoons dextrose in 100 ml of de-ionized water, sterilizing with an inverted lid for 40 min in the pc. I also sterilize extra dome lids wrapped in foil. I open the jar in the glovebox, open the print, tip and scrape for a second. I cover the jar with a sterile lid from the foil pak: seal side down and crank the band tight. 10 days later I have enough sterile pan trop mycellia to fill 10 syringes. The jars and syringes are keeping well in the fridge.

I have tested a substrate with soy flour, worm castings, and S.T.E.M. as additives for the Trops. It works great for the current batch of B+ jars...

OK, I have an update here, and just completed another series of experiments in nitrogen levels for shrooms. I wish Quote were here to hear this.

None of these Pan Trop jars took. Reason: soy flour plus worm castings pushed the nitrogen levels up to the point where it burned the mycelium. Pan Trops are more sensitive to nitrogen than cubies are... Cubie mycelia in the same substrate took OK, slow but good and healthy. Here is the scoop. Karna I hope you are reading...

Mycellia travels faster across loose, nutrient poor, substrate (straw for example). High nitrogen levels slow mycellia down (when you use lots of soy for example, jars will be slower when compared to straight BRF), but higher nitrogen levels produce better fruiting: more and larger fruits, and more flushes. But the mycellia does take longer to colonize, and if you get jars too "hot" with nitrogen additives they won't colonize at all. High nitrogen substrates that are too hot will contam/pH drift. A tad of lime helps, especially with these Trops. They seem to like things sweeter.

Two nitrogen additives (say manure and soy flour) in combination are too hot for Pan Trops. Cubies still grow (although they will be slower), but it's too hot for Trops.

If you are growing cakes for spawn, or you are trying new stuff (ie. Pan Trops), go very easy if you use additives.
And keep your regular Tek running alongside your experiments, just in case...

Hello everyone, a FOAF has been growing cubies(Puerto Ricans, Ecquadors, & PESA Hawaiians) for a while, and has recently switched to Pan Cyans. We both agree that these are way more potent than any of the Cubies. He harvested 10.5 grams from 8 jars using Ralphster44's tek. He doen't know if this yield is good or not. Anyway, it's enough for a few friends, but he loves to party and more and more of his friends have fallen in love with these little guys. He wants to know if there is some bulk substrate or another method he could use to increase yield. Or is Ralphster44's tek currently the best method out there? Any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated.

check out the method here
10 grams isn't much although it should easily get 5 people totally fucked up.

Nice link Relic!
I swear that is my straw tek... Oh well regardless it's still a good idea: sanitized containers, gloves... Compost where I use worm castings, but it's semantics.

Good link, worth an eyeball.

That is a good link...I have been P/Cooking all of my worm castings, vermiculite, and straw. You can pack the straw in jars, fill and rinse to clean it up a bit, then a bit of water in the bottom--a tight lid and 1 hour in the cooker, at least. I do DRY worm castings in the cooker too- they are used to soak up any of the excess moisture in the straw...then spawn with a blenderized cake.
I am going to use this method with the Pan Cyan and Trops cakes, but go heavier on the poop, and add some horse poop too.
Large flushes should be expected, but as you state, yields are smaller than cubes...I have seen great results from Ralph and MUSHMUSH...Cant wait to see what happens.
