I tried posting this the other day and it screwed up. BUt I think I got it together.
This is the malaysian with the inner reservoir tek PF style.
This was sent to me (photo). I think the inner reservoir tek is a real kick ass and might be THE WAY for PF tek growing.

I agree PF, A friend turned me onto the inner resivior.. So I used the inner resivior and double-end cased my hawaiian cakes.. Thanks for the tek PF
P.S. The mazatec's I ordered from you are still colonizing, i'll let you know how they do with the same procedure.. I'll see if I can borrow a digi cam too, peace.

Are the cakes in this picture cased? It's hard to tell. That appears to be a casing layer that the mushrooms are growing from.

The cake is cased with wet vermiculite. The guy that sent me the photo said he shot a few cc's of water into the reservoir every few days. The original TEk is to shot a full syringe into the cake. Doing it is kind of fun.
I just tried it and it goes easy. Will report on the fruiting, but everyone that does this tek reports that this is the way he is going to do the PF TEK from now on.
The IR TEK can only be done in the initial cake preparation. Drilling holes to do it after colonization sounds like a waste of time, but knowing how bizaar shroom growing can be, that even might work.
