More specifically, I'm referring to adds by companies like RCA and Columbia (that wonderful name!) who advertise free records if you join their clubs. As I get into more an more things, I find myself on more and more ``sucker lists.'' These are no exception. Last week, I got a thing from RCA that offered me 6 free records/tapes/etc. if I agreed to buy 3 more albums at ``regular cost'' over the next three years. The very next day, I got something from Columbia offering me 11 free tapes/lp's/etc. PLUS one extra free one (why don't they just say 12 free?) if I agreed to buy 8 albums at ``regular prices'' over the next three years. Not only that, but I could select my first ``regular cost album'' now, buy it at half price, and only have to buy 7 albums over the next 3 years. What is the catch that they say doesn't exist (or does it really?)
