curious

i'm curious. how many people regularly read netnews? can anyone
come up with an easy way to find out without running up enormous
phone bills, & without lumping hours of work on any particular
site or user? perhaps the "organic" structure of the network
precludes determining such things (without damaging the structure,
that is) ... a political uncertainty principle.
