I suspect that Delphi Communications, which is working on their own networking projects (and sees some of these communications) would take exception to the choice. IDNET somehow seems kinda, well, I dunno, un-classy. ARACHNET is cute but something that would cause more jokes than serious consideration in the real world. I don't think we should rush into the naming business. The network will hold together long enough with its current name for a more reasoned consideration of choices to be made. This is certainly a topic that can be brought up at the January Usenix meeting ... I'll do it myself there if I have to.
