Awivax.1063 net.general utcsrgv!utzoo!decvax!wivax!ss Wed Feb 10 14:03:28 1982 home VCR I wouldn't mind seeing a net.video. I have an RCA 480 (I think that's the number). It's VHS, which has about 80% of the market in this part of the U.S. (northeast), or so I am told. It has a wired remote control, although this years models do it wireless (mine is 1981 vintage). It has the 3 speed business, with a fast search forward and backward, 14 day 8 program timer. I am hooked to a cable system (Warner/Amex) so I can't take advantage of the the channel switching, but the multi-program timer is a BIG plus. I usually use TDK tapes. I have had a little trouble interfacing to the cable, the fine-tuning wanders a little over time, so occasionally I come to find a blank tape where I thought there should have been something, but this is infrequent. The cost when I got it was about $1000, or a little less.
