MISTRESS has been developed by Rhodnius Incorporated, a company whose principals include John Kornatowski and Ivor Ladd, the major authors of Univ. of Toronto's MRS database system. MISTRESS features an English-like query language (a subset of SEQUEL II), a variety of data types including date and dollar, interfaces to C and the Unix shell, interactive creation of tables and entry/update/deletion of data as well as bulk entry of data, and a built-in line editor for correcting mistakes in entering query language commands or entering/updating data.
