The system doesn't store the FEC register, only the FPS register. PFE looks at the current contents of the FEC register, so if anyone else had an exception in the interim, you.lose (as they say). There's no way to reload the FEC when you switch users, so maximal winnage isn't possible, but the system could at least store the FEC in the u area. Anybody ever done this?
