When DEC first introduced the RL, the vector was in the floating range, and then they changed their mind. We found this when updating an RT-11 system (ugh) some time ago, all of a sudden the RLs wouldn't work. I had forgotten about it until 2.8bsd. The fix is to flip the switches on the RL controller to whatever it says in the 'setting up' document long enough to recompile a unix with a new l.s. P.S. Are you listening, Carl?
