ADM-5a >From Craig.Everhart@CMU-10A Sat Mar 6 15:06:20 1982 Message-Id: <06MAR82 175321 CE10@CMU-10A> It's a good question as to how the Control and CapsLock keys ``should'' be arranged. The first Concepts had them Repeat | Ctrl | A We at CMU bitched loud about this, and were superficially pleased with the next version, which had auto-repeat and Ctrl | CapsLk | A Unfortunately, this is operationally a real loss, aggravated by the CapsLock design, whose state is indicated only by a little light on the key itself and not, say, by the key sticking down or up or anything. The key gets in the way a LOT. Personally, I never use it, and so would be just as happy with it on the bottom of the keyboard, but even for people who use it, a less in-the- way place would be quite adequate. Between left-finger-home and Control is a loss. Unfortunately, the other arrangement is probably a loss, too. ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
