Edgar M. Bronfman, the chairman of the Hillel International Board of Governors, visited the Rutgers University campus recently to meet with students and to discuss his personal journey through the worlds of business, philanthropy and international Jewish leadership.
"Developing the next generation of leaders is crucial to the viability and growth of the Jewish community. That's why I view campus visits as so important to my work with Hillel. The students today are smart and they are serious about developing meaningful Jewish lives. It's a pleasure to be with them," Bronfman said.
During his visit to the New Brunswick campus, in addition to his meetings with students, Bronfman met with Rutgers University President Richard L. McCormick, Hillel International President Avraham Infeld Rutgers University leadership, Jewish federation and community leaders and supporters of Rutgers Hillel.
In his 10 years as chairman of Hillel, Bronfman has visited more than 100 campuses in North America, South America and Israel. During that time, Hillel has expanded throughout North America, building stunning new facilities from Santa Barbara, to Columbus, to Cornell. Hillel Foundations have been created in places that were unthinkable just a few years ago, places like Moscow, Montevideo and Buenos Aires. Through his efforts, hundreds of thousands of Jewish college students around the world may enjoy the Jewish campus communities that they need and deserve.
