So it was with a plasma detection package, as Gordon Fullerton successfully grabbed it, waved it around, and then set it down. The arm will be first used to deploy a satellite on the seventh shuttle mission, now set for April, 1983. The first three satellites to be deployed are communications satellites -- they will be launched from a spinning spring like platform, to enable them to stabilize before there own boosters take them up to the geosynchronous orbit range. ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
