Though APU 3 overheated and was prematurely shut down, officials expect it will be AOK for the scheduled landing, as it was when the same thing happened during STS-2. The first operation in space, the opening of the cargo bay doors, went well -- without a hitch. Experiments were turned on and fly swatters were readied. Meanwhile, back on humble Earth, the ships Liberty and Freedom proceeded to the two splashed down SRB's. On calm seas, in contrast to the rough seas of STS-2 that forced the boosters to swim for a week, they expect to have the boosters towed back to Port Canaveral by tomorrow night. ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
