Thus, the names in the .sys file are probably fair game. However, what purpose does sending out the output of "uuname" command serve? Does it fill in holes in Usenet map? That information is in the .sys (or sys for B-news) file, NOT in "uuname". Just because someone communicates with another site using uucp, doesn't mean that anyone NOT on that system should be able to find out that information. With the openness of uucp and news at present, anyone at any system could (by sending the "special article") get the names of all connected-to systems and use their "real" money funds to transfer files/etc. over thought-to-be private links. I vote YES to "sys" file information but NO to "uuname" output.
