There are many intersections in "types" of music. For example, where would you put outfits like the Jacques Lussier Trio? (I mean besides in net.defunct). However, I do support the idea that there should be three newsgroups as suggested recently (net.(audio|records|music)) which should cover the ground on technical areas, recorded media and general music. Some comments have indicated that net.music should be restricted to "electronic" music. I disagree with this because "electronic" is not the only music, nor even the most modern music. Herewith is a list of one possible topic for each of the three possible groups: net.audio - Metal Cassette Tape Technology net.records - Reviews of specific recorded performances (not necessarily music). net.music - Graphic Scores: advantages and disadvantages of John Winterton ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
