I came back from my vacation to find a pile of bug reports on the 2.0 distribution. Most of them are quite minor, a few are easy to fix but potentially dangerous. I'm going to create a new distribution which will incorporate all the fixes, and post a diff -e script to go from the vanilla 2.0 release to this fixed version. I hope to have this posted before this weekend. I advise you to (1) keep your vanilla sources around - if you've already clobbered them you can get them from net.sources, but beware that they will probably expire this weekend. (2) unless you've already installed 2.0, I'd advise waiting until next week. If there is significant demand, or if the diff file turns out to be huge (unlikely), I'll repost the whole thing. But I'd rather not do that - posting anything that big tends to bring out all the unreliable pieces of uux - there are at least two big chunks of USENET (the part on the ARPANET and the part below menlo70) that are missing several files, and if I can figure out where they got dropped I'll attempt to get them resent. Please keep sending me any bug reports, preferably with fixes, as I'll attempt to get them into the update. Mark P.S. Would all sites who have already installed 2.0 please drop me a note? I'd like to know who is running it already. ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
