I know of several headphone listeners, that is hi-fi headphones, who have incurred permanent hearing losses by playing too loud. You should be aware that there are no limiters built into h-fi headphones, and it is quite possible to damage your hearing by playing them too loud. If you experience any ringing or dullness in your ears after using headphones, or if you notice that you are turning up the level after listening for a while because things dd dont seem quite as loud, beware! Many rock musicians are known to have lost a good part of their hearing, dont try to recreate their environment.
