Acca.207 net.general utzoo!decvax!ucbvax!z@CCA-UNIX Tue Nov 17 14:17:21 1981 New sites Newsgroups: all Name of sites: cca csin What the site is all about: We are Computer Corporation of America, and we specialize in producing commercial and custom database systems. The cca machine is used by both our Sponsored Research Division and our Advanced Development Division. The csin machine is a dedicated machine used by the Advanced Development System to run the Chemical Substances Information Network, which interfaces to many chemical databases throughout the country. Name of contact person at site: Steven Zimmerman Electronic mail addresses of contact person: z@cca-unix decvax!cca!z U.S. Mail address of contact persons: Computer Corporation of America 575 Technology Square Phone number of contact persons: 617-491-3670 How the site is connected into usenet (what kind of link, who the neighbor(s) are): The cca machine gets news from Berkeley over the Arpanet and passes it on to csin via a hardwired uucp link. Both sites are connected to decvax, although currently only csin has a dialer. Willingness (or lack thereof) to connect to new sites that want to join usenet. If you run uucp, tell if new sites can call you, if you will poll them, what your policy is. We are open to having a limited number of sites poll cca for news in the middle of the night. If on the arpanet, are you willing to forward news on to new sites by establishing an arpanet usenet connection? We are connected to the Arpanet only by a (heavily used) 9600 baud line, and we don't have the capacity to do this. If you want to publish your uucp phone number, login, and password, include that info. We would prefer to do this on an individual basis. ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
