new site on the net
      This is to  announce  the  presence  of  purdue,  the  Department  of
Computer Sciences at Purdue University, on the net. Research interests here
are,  among  other  things,  operating  systems,  performance   evaluation,
computer  communications,  security  and protection, programming languages,
VLSI, numerical analysis, human factors, theory of computation, information
and   database   systems,   programming  environments,  ...  (we're  rather
diversified). We are running Berkeley UNIX on a VAX-11/780.

      We are connected to pur-ee (the Department of Electrical  Engineering
at  Purdue),  and  are  interested  in communicating with people of similar
interests, or folks who just want to chat about UNIX.

      So, hello everybody!
