Acincy.128 NET.general,net.general utzoo!duke!cincy!chris Fri May 29 11:54:47 1981 Speeding up 34s We are receiving a 11/34 soon, and will probably put a heavy load on it. (I wanted a 45 or 70, but no bucks.) We run a lightly loaded 60 with a suboptimal configuration (not full memory, restricted disks) so I would like to benefit from the experience of others as to what I can expect from the machine, what can be done to speed it up (cache? from who?) and other tidbits you might have. We also have a 23 that isn't being put to good use. It seems a good candidate for UNIX use, but has only a single RL01 on it. Any suggestions? The 34 comes in with two RL01s, but will have some RM02s put on, I'm told. 1 DH, full memory, and maybe a prototype winchester unit. It's quite unstable right now.
