Ingredients 1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter - softened 1 1/2 cups sifted flour 3/4 cup POWDERED sugar 1/4 tsp. salt Combine all ingreditnts and mix until a doughy consistency. Press into a shortbread mold (or pan). My directions said to bake at 325 for about an hour, but that time seemed much too long. Watch the first time you make it and bake until lightly browned. Caveats: 1) I haven't tried substituting margarine for butter, so results may be different. 2) I have not baked this in a regular pan, so baking time may vary. ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
